Plaster & Alginate Casting; Air-dry Clay; Found objects (beads, stones to make jewelry)

This relief-sculpture depicts nose rings worn by locals from each state in India to represent state-wise cultural diversity & paradoxical homogeneity in ideologies of wearing nose rings as symbols of one’s identity. The noses are merely surfacing to create the idea of a struggle for breath to stay alive, similar to the state of the dying culture of India.
