84 found saree strands stitched to make a border
This saree is a culmination of 84 different strips of saree types from around India. India has more than 10,00 different types of weaving, dyeing, embroidery and making styles for sarees based on the location of creation. However, today, most of these art forms have died out and gone extinct. I look shards of some that have remained, and survived these surges of colonialism and industrialization to make a saree which allows me to, in my own way, preserve bits of my culture.
