Alginate-casting in plaster of bellybuttons stained and embellished with dried flowers
This work is about the connection we as humans have to our mother earth. Focusing on the Indian-Pakistan Partition, I wanted to comment on how one's connection to their land is independent of nationality. Illustrated through the process of casting the bellybuttons (a symbol of connection, birth, nourishment and life) of Indians and Pakistanis and coloured the casts with flowers native to the South Asian continent (a symbol of the earth and our land).
